Leverkusen, 30.01.2020 – Cube Real Estate GmbH has started construction work on 181 fully furnished apartments in Düsseldorf. The Leverkusen-based project developer is converting an existing office and commercial building into the modern micro-apartment complex CUBE RIVER 342 with around 4,600 m² of living space and 93 parking spaces on a plot of around 3,800^m2 at Heinrichstrasse 83-85, in the immediate vicinity of the state capital’s university. The first residents are due to move in at the end of 2021.

The five-storey office building with two building sections dating back to 1965 will be gutted and then extensively revitalized and converted into modern furnished apartments for students and young professionals. Through the revitalization, Cube Real Estate is ensuring a significantly better energy balance for the property. The modernized building will only require 55 percent of the energy of a building that meets today’s minimum requirements for new buildings and therefore has a significantly more positive eco-factor than the ageing office property. Among other things, optimized window areas and a modern combined heat and power plant, which supplies the building with sustainable energy, contribute to this. The architectural design was created by Düsseldorf-based greeen! architects GmbH.
