Leverkusen, 20.12.2019 – The Leverkusen-based project developer Cube Real Estate is planning to revitalize an office property in a central location at Corneliusstraße 20-24 in Düsseldorf on an area of almost 7,000 square metres. The former headquarters of advertising agencies TWT Digital Group and Grey Group Germany is to undergo extensive refurbishment and a new office building is to be constructed at the rear of the property. The parties have agreed not to disclose the purchase price or contract details.

“With the building on Corneliusstrasse, Cube Real Estate is not only acquiring a property in a very attractive location in the state capital of North Rhine-Westphalia, but also a piece of German advertising history,” reports Tilman Gartmeier, founder and Managing Director of Cube Real Estate. The property was most recently used by the TWT Digital Group, a German internet agency. The origins of Grey Group Germany date back to the 1950s in Düsseldorf. The HB- Männchen, the “Freude am Fahren” or the Punica Oasis were developed here by creative advertising strategists. “With the building on Corneliusstraße, we are developing another interesting real estate project in Düsseldorf by 2022. We will continue to expand our business activities in the state capital,” says Jean-Marc Fey, Head of Acquisitions and Sales at Cube Real Estate, looking ahead with optimism.

Fey sees growing demand in Düsseldorf for both central office locations and residential properties throughout the city. With projects such as Cube River 342 in Heinrichstrasse, Cube Real Estate aims to relieve the pressure on the residential market with small apartments. This means optimized, furnished apartments in a small space for a special target group. Often referred to as young and urban professionals, these include people who are temporarily drawn to Düsseldorf for work or training. “If there were no solution for this growing group in the form of small apartments, they would put additional pressure on the already tight, regular housing market, for example for families,” explains Jean-Marc Fey.
