The site’s island location on one of the most important entry roads to the state capital and in the immediate vicinity of university facilities such as Düsseldorf University Hospital could make the area a real landmark for Düsseldorf. Together with the city, Cube Real Estate would like to significantly upgrade and further develop the Bilk district at this location. In 2023, a qualification process was carried out to obtain an innovative and suitable design. The winning design from the competition is by JSWD Architects from Cologne, who have planned a modern and sustainable building with office and commercial uses for the site, as requested by the city planners, the neighborhood and Cube Real Estate. In Q2/2024, the decision to draw up the development plan was made and the development plan process has thus begun.
