Leverkusen, 05.02.2020 – “Hamburg is the second-largest city in the world’s fourth-largest economy and therefore an important expansion component for our corporate growth,” explains Tilman Gartmeier, Managing Director of Cube Real Estate. The Leverkusen-based project developer is opening its Hamburg office today, officially establishing Cube Real Estate Nord GmbH.

“We are proud to have Christian Scheuerl as Managing Director for the new location in the north, who brings with him many years of expertise in real estate project development,” says a delighted Tilman Gartmeier. Scheuerl will also be involved in selected areas of responsibility across the Cube Real Estate Group. The Hamburg lawyer has extensive experience in Cube Real Estate’s core business, namely the development of fully furnished apartments for students and urban professionals. Scheuerl previously worked for over five years as Managing Director at apartment developer MPC Real Estate Development, where he built up the “Staytoo” brand in nine locations with over 1,500 apartments. Before that, he was responsible for projects at shopping center developer ECE.

To date, Cube Real Estate’s geographical focus has been on real estate projects in the Rhineland and the Rhine-Main region. Cube Real Estate North will now concentrate primarily on the Hamburg metropolitan region and the major cities of Bremen, Hanover and Kiel as well as on real estate developments in Lower Saxony and Schleswig-Holstein. “For me, Hamburg is the German metropolis that is tackling the issue of urban development most energetically,” says Christian Scheuerl, describing the market for the new branch. There is a palpable spirit of optimism about rethinking life in the Elbe metropolis and making it fit for the future. “The innovative living space concepts from Cube Real Estate are a perfect fit,” says Scheuerl.

The new location in Hamburg will not be the only expansion of the rapidly growing project developer from the Rhineland in 2020. “We will be expanding our business activities in the Rhine-Main region in the middle of the year with another regional company in Frankfurt am Main,” says Tilman Gartmeier, explaining Cube Real Estate’s further plans. The company is currently realizing a project volume of around 1.2 billion euros. The total project volume is set to increase significantly with the new locations, starting with Hamburg.
