Cube Real Estate GmbH (Cube), in cooperation with the city planning office of the state capital Düsseldorf and Ulrich Hartung GmbH, announces the winning designs of the architectural competition for the renowned high-rise development project “Bilkwinkel”.

After a thorough examination and evaluation of the submitted projects, the jury determined that two designs stood out significantly. Due to their outstanding quality, the jury decided to select two winners. From a total of ten submissions, the designs by the architectural firms SOP from Düsseldorf and JSWD from Cologne stood out in particular. The jury, consisting of representatives from politics, the city of Düsseldorf, Cube and various architecture and planning offices from Germany, particularly appreciated the creative adaptation of the designs to the location and the specific conditions of the approximately 2,200 m² project site. The development plan procedure will now be initiated immediately following the decision to initiate it.

The current building at Witzelstrasse 54-60 will be extensively redesigned. The planned concept envisages a high-rise building with a maximum gross floor area of 11,000 m² and a height of up to 45 meters. Public uses such as stores and services are planned for the first floor, while the upper floors are reserved for offices and services.
