Award for urban quarter brand in Leverkusen from Cube Real Estate
Leverkusen, 16.06.2023 – Investing in the future, creating something worth living in and preserving history: The Cube Factory 577 project development in Leverkusen’s Opladen district is not like any other project. The jury of the German Brand Award 2023 agreed: Cube Factory 577 in Leverkusen was honored with German Brand Award in the category – Excellence in Brand Strategy and Creation – Brand Communication – Architecture & Buildings. The awards were presented to the winners at a festive awards ceremony in Berlin on June 15, 2023.
“We are delighted about this award and that our project development in Leverkusen has received this attention,” says Tilman Gartmeier, founder and CEO of Cube Real Estate. “With Cube Factory 577, we are creating a brand in which architecture and urban development speak for themselves: Industrial charm combined with contemporary construction and a quarter that has a story to tell. With our concept, we have found the answer to how to keep the history of a location alive without historicizing it. The former railroad repair hall will become a symbiosis of (student) housing, office and commercial space as well as sports and catering areas. The center of the quarter will become an attractive attraction for all residents of Bahnstadt Opladen with restaurants and a fitness studio,” continues Tilman Gartmeier.

In 2016, Cube Real Estate purchased a site of around 21,000 square meters in the center of the area. Cube Real Estate was able to develop and finalize the development plan in just 14 months in close cooperation with the administration and politicians and with the involvement of the neighbourhood. The project development will create modern and energy-efficient office space, living space for students, young professionals and shared apartments in the immediate vicinity of the new TH Köln campus, restaurants and sports facilities as well as condominiums in the former Bahnstadt Opladen district. A parking garage, which is visually embedded in the architecture, provides sufficient parking space for residents.
