Düsseldorf/Leverkusen/Erlangen, 12.10.2023

Together with renowned guests from politics, administration and project partners, Cube Real Estate GmbH and the ZBI Zentral Boden Immobilien Group laid the foundation stone for the mixed-use urban quarter on Erkrather Strasse in Düsseldorf-Flingern. Compact apartments, socially subsidized and price-controlled apartments as well as space for offices, restaurants and retail will be built on a plot area of around 6,100 m². The Cube Central 378 project development was acquired by the ZBI Group back in October 2022 as part of a forward deal. Completion is planned for 2025.

Tilman Gartmeier, founder and CEO of Cube Real Estate GmbH, Christian Reißing, Chief Development Officer of the ZBI Group, and Lord Mayor Dr. Stephan Keller addressed the guests at the event to mark the laying of the foundation stone.

The close cooperation has led to a design that fits in very well with the surroundings in terms of urban planning and use and will meet the requirements of the local people for this quarter in the long term. The new center of Flingern-Süd will be versatile and green

The “Cube Central 378” project will see a total of 177 residential units, including socially subsidized and price-controlled apartments, and around 5,500 m² of rentable office and commercial space built over the next few years on around 13,000 m² of residential and usable space. In addition, a publicly accessible green space with a playground will offer recreational opportunities. The new quarter was designed together with the neighborhood as part of “Planwerkstatt 378”. The team of architects involved in the project design is made up of Henning Shin Architekten (formerly HGMB Architekten), HPP Architekten and Atelier Fritschi + Stahl.
