Cube receives planning permission for Bonn quarter

Cube Real Estate GmbH (Cube) has received planning permission for the mixed-use “Bonner Flagge” quarter on the former Bonner Fahnenfabrik site at Römerstrasse 303-305 in Bonn. Three residential buildings with a total of around 200 residential units, consisting of 169 compact apartments and 29 apartments, are planned on the approximately 15,000m2 site. An underground parking garage with around 163 parking spaces and around 450 bicycle parking spaces in the outdoor area and basement will also be built. The historic building of the former flag factory will also be given a new two-storey extension for office and commercial use. The concept also includes sufficient multifunctional areas to provide space for sports and cultural events. Completion is planned for 2027.
Cube is focusing on a sustainability concept for the development of the quarter, which includes the preservation of the historic building fabric and the use of sustainable building materials such as wood. The neighborhood’s energy supply is to be ensured 100 percent by large-scale photovoltaic systems for the production of green energy, for example. Residents of the neighborhood have already been informed about the redesign at an information event.
