Leverkusen, 04.05.2021 – Leverkusen-based real estate developer Cube Real Estate is strengthening its construction management with Behnam Afshar as its new division manager. The 31-year-old industrial engineer is to expand the project developer’s internal construction department and establish internal structures with regard to fully integrated individual contracting. The aim of construction management is to realize all projects in the company’s own pipeline of almost EUR 2 billion internally on an individual contract basis in future.
Behnam Afshar enriches the now 70-strong team of the Leverkusen-based project developer with a great deal of professional expertise: most recently, he was Head of Construction Operations at Kondor Wessels, before that he was Project Manager at ZECH Bau.
“In the future, we will progressively handle more projects on a holistic, individual contract basis. With his experience and expertise, Behnam Afshar will bring us a great deal closer to this goal,” says Tilman Gartmeier, founder and Managing Director of Cube Real Estate.

The company is already realizing three of its current projects as individual contracts: the Cube Factory 577 district development in Leverkusen, the Cube River 342 apartment project in Düsseldorf and the new construction of the office project “The Square” in Ratingen as part of the new “Schwarzbach Quartier” business location. “Awarding contracts individually is more challenging for us than awarding them to a general contractor. However, it makes the processes on our construction sites much more flexible while reducing construction costs. We also ensure that the projects bear our signature and meet our high standards of quality, individuality and sustainability,” explains Gartmeier.
