Cube Real Estate receives planning permission for
mixed-use urban quarter in Mannheim

The project developer Cube Real Estate has received planning permission for the Mannheim district development “QiNO – Quartier in der Neckarstadt Ost”. Over the next few years, Cube is planning to convert the former Felina works on a site area of around 8,500 m². A mixed-use quarter will be created in the Neckarstadt-Ost district – the historical charm of the area will be preserved and supplemented with liveable open spaces. Construction work is scheduled to begin at the end of this year.

At the former production and administration site of the textile company Felina, around 224 modern residential units of various sizes will be built by 2026, a quarter of which will be barrier-free. The former buildings of the Felina textile company will be largely preserved and renovated using modern energy-saving technology. An extension is planned to make efficient use of the existing building fabric. Offices, retail and restaurant space are also planned for the urban quarter, as well as around 64 parking spaces. As a “city of short distances”, the quarter is aimed at students and young professionals, as well as senior citizens and families.
