Cube Real Estate Nord acquires 6,600 square meters of land right next to Bremen’s main railway station
Apartments, apartments and offices are to be built in a central location by 2025
Hamburg / Bremen, 26.01.2021 – The regional location company of Leverkusen-based real estate developer Cube Real Estate has acquired a 6,600 square meter property in a central location in the Hanseatic city of Bremen. This is the project development site (former track hall) of the listed Post Office 5. The seller of this part of the site is a subsidiary of the long-term owner, a Munich-based family office.
The almost fully let existing building with its listed brick façade directly on Bahnhofsplatz will remain in the ownership of the southern German family office and is therefore a direct neighbor of Cube Real Estate Nord’s project development. The parties have agreed not to disclose the purchase price of the “An der Weide” project development site, which has direct access to platform 1 of Bremen’s main railway station.
“With the purchase of this attractive property in the Hanseatic city of Bremen, our northern German location company, which was founded a year ago and is based in Hamburg, is making a powerful start,” says Tilman Gartmeier, founder and Managing Director of Cube Real Estate. Bernd Hütter, who is responsible for the business of the Leverkusen-based real estate developer’s subsidiaries and location companies, adds: “We are looking forward to this first, large and extremely exciting project development in a great location.” The company is also currently in further acquisition talks for properties in northern Germany with a focus on Bremen and Hamburg.
Cube Real Estate Nord is primarily planning apartments, compact apartments and office space on the 6,600 square meter site in Bremen. “Bremen is a city of science and research and has nine universities with 38,000 students. With this project, we will meet the high demand for suitable living space, including for young employees,” explains Jean-Marc Fey, Head of Acquisitions and Sales at Cube Real Estate.
The property is perfectly connected in terms of infrastructure. Bremen’s main train station is right next door and the university can be reached in 15 minutes. The property is scheduled for completion in the third quarter of 2025.
Cube Real Estate was advised by the law firm Loschelder Rechtsanwälte from Cologne and GPP Recht from Bremen. The North German real estate law firm Robert C. Spies acted as an intermediary for the business partners.
