special neighborhood: an urban quarter that<br \/>\nDifferent types of commercial use with intergenerational living<br \/>\nunited. The concept for the quarter is being developed in a dialog-oriented process with local politicians, the neighbourhood and the<br \/>\ncity. A pilot project for urban production called &#8220;cube co-craft K\u00f6ln&#8221; is being launched for the commercial<br \/>\nuses section of the quarter together with the City of Cologne and the business development agency<br \/>\nK\u00f6ln.<br \/>\nFrom the outset, potential users, i.e. companies interested in relocating to the area, are planning<br \/>\nthis section of the project and thus their future company headquarters. Another<br \/>\nkey section of the quarter will include various residential uses, which<br \/>\nare also urgently needed in Cologne&#8217;s urban area.   <\/p>\n<p>The currently undeveloped plot is located along Longericher Strasse in<br \/>\nclose proximity to the new ICE plant in Cologne Bilderst\u00f6ckchen and, with an area of<br \/>\n40,000 m\u00b2, is the largest site in Cube Real Estate&#8217;s portfolio to date. An impressive 70,000 square meters of potential gross floor area (GFA) are planned in this construction project<br \/>\n.<br \/>\nCube Real Estate purchased the property in June 2020 and has since defined the uses<br \/>\nand the process for developing the quarter with the City of Cologne, politicians and the<br \/>\nneighbourhood. <\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We are looking forward to this project in Cologne, where we will be working with companies to plan urban<br \/>\nproduction. There is currently no generally accepted definition for the<br \/>\nconcept of urban production. In the context of our project, urban production stands for<br \/>\noperational structures that are realized in a space-saving manner in a dense, mixed quarter<br \/>\n,&#8221; says Thore Marenbach, Managing Director of Cube Land Development GmbH.  <\/p>\n<p>The cube co-craft in Cologne brings entrepreneurs together to create something new. The cooperative, five-month planning process will start on 18 October 2023 at<br \/>\n. By the beginning of<br \/>\n2024, the entrepreneurs will have held a total of four meetings with<br \/>\nexperts, specialist planners and the City of Cologne to develop their optimal space organization and<br \/>\narchitecture.
