Group planted 500 trees in a<br \/>\nforest in Engelskirchen on<br \/>\nTuesday morning in collaboration with the Life Terra Foundation. A further 2,000 trees will follow in the coming<br \/>\nweeks. The saplings planted today should stand at the<br \/>\nsite for at least 50 years. Tags can be used to officially<br \/>\ndocument the number of trees planted and track the development of the resulting climate forests.   <\/p>\n<p>The project developer Cube Real Estate, together with the non-profit<br \/>\nsubsidiary Cube Wood gGmbH, is thus making a clear statement in favor of climate protection and wants<br \/>\nto be a role model in the industry. The Dutch Life Terra Foundation, which supports Cube Wood<br \/>\ngGmbH, has set itself the goal of planting 500 million trees in Europe. <\/p>\n<p>Planting trees plays an important role in the fight against climate change and<br \/>\nthe associated natural disasters such as heatwaves, droughts and floods.<br \/>\nForests are the most important carbon sinks; their growth removes around two billion tons of CO2 from the atmosphere<br \/>\nevery year. To ensure that forests are as little susceptible as possible to<br \/>\ndrought and pests, mixed forests<br \/>\nare deliberately planted during reforestation, which also promotes biodiversity. <\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We are grateful that the Life Terra Foundation, one of Europe&#8217;s largest climate protection initiatives<br \/>\n, is supporting us with its expertise at our first planting event<br \/>\n.
